TRIANGL Swimwear

Location: 47 George Street, The Rocks

Background:

The online swimwear company TRIANGL is opening a new office in The Rocks, adjacent to Circular Quay on Sydney Harbour. This expansion requires space for additional staff to be seated in a flexible, welcoming work environment, as many of the staff work remotely on different days of the week.

The interior should offer them an opportunity to connect with the other members of the company when they come into the office, and accommodate the flexible nature of their work environment.

Client brief:

  • A retail space showcasing the company's products and designed to attract public attention to the brand

  • An office space that is reflective of the company’s brand, aesthetic, and flexible workplace practices

  • An office space capable of accommodating up to 10 staffs
  • A permanent workstation for an administrative manager (based in this office)

  • A hospitality space for entertaining industry guests and hosting special brand events

  • A changing room for customers and bathroom for staff

Concept:

The original Art-Deco building includes beautiful original Art-Deco detailing and internal spaces with generous proportions.

Inspired by TRIANGL’s brand story, carefree lifestyle and loving the ocean, launch a set of affordable yet effortless swimwear, the design concept strikes a contemporary balance by incorporating new design elements - the giant sand wall backdrop installation in the retail space.

For the office area, the design concept aim to create a comfortable and flexible environment, incorporating with the existing beautiful sandstone wall, I have chosen neutral colour scheme and designed a practical working space to meets the client’s needs, with pastel upholstery furnishing, natural oak herringbone hard wood timber flooring, and capsule think tank space which allows staff to have a private space at work yet more flexible.
